Purpose Statement

This degree is recommended for students who plan to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication or for students seeking employment in journalism.

This is a recommended curriculum only. Some courses may be taken in different order, and students do not have to complete the degree in four semesters. Students in remediation will require a different course sequence. All interested students should see the Liberal Arts Division Chair for a degree plan.

Admissions
Must fulfill all admission requirements to Lamar State College - Orange by submitting

  • application for admission to Lamar State College - Orange
  • official high school transcript
  • official transcript(s) of all college work completed at other colleges or universities
  • a copy of driver's license, and
  • a copy of your social security card
  • must take the TASP test, or approved alternative exam, or be exempt
