Associate of Arts in Teaching
(AAT 2)
Purpose Statement
The Associate of Arts in Teaching degree is a state-board approved collegiate degree program consisting of lower-division courses intended for transfer to baccalaureate programs that lead to initial Texas teacher certification. The AAT degree is fully transferable to any Texas public university offering baccalaureate degree programs leading to initial teaching certifications.
All interested students should see the Education Division Director. The AAT 2 degree plan is for students interested in teaching grades 8-12, grades EC-12 in art, music, physical education, theater, technology applications and languages other than English.
