Salary

$34,000 - $37,000

Responsibilities

Instructor of English: primary teaching areas are composition, British literature, and world literature; provide innovative quality instruction (normal load is 15 credit hours per semester; assignment may include day and evening classes); effectively mentor students; supply professional leadership in curriculum; assist with advising and registration; serve on departmental and college committees; continue professional development; and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution and eighteen hours of graduate English required, MA/Ph.D. preferred.  A graduate minor in speech and/or drama is a definite plus.  College teaching experience highly preferred.  The ability to teach developmental reading and writing courses would be beneficial.  Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and must comply with established college standards and policies.
