Build Your Team for Success at Lamar State College-Orange
An authentic team is very different from a traditional work group -- performing at a much higher level than workgroups. Lamar State College-Orange will be conducting a one-day seminar, Team Building for Success on Thursday, September 24 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Wilson Building located at 506 Green Avenue. The course provides proven strategies for high-performance teams for businesses and organizations of all sizes.
“Effective high-performance teams can dramatically increase productivity, cultivate employee loyalty to an organization and ultimately help employees take responsibility for their success. Team Building for Success teaches the fundamentals of successful teams, how the team model functions and the five types of teams,” explains Kent Hutchison, course instructor.
Students will learn how to build a team by establishing a charter to create a team vision, implementing shared leadership to empower employees, setting goals and keep score, making decisions and solving problems as a team; establishing the process of peer feedback and recognizing effective teamwork.
Registration is currently open and can be made by calling Workforce Development at Lamar State College-Orange at (409) 882-3321. The course fee is $129 and includes all classroom materials. Payments may be made in person, by phone, or invoiced.
