ETS Proficiency Profile Graduation Requirement
All students preparing to graduate with an Associate of Science (A.S.), an Associate of Arts (A.A) degree, or an Associate of Arts Teaching (A.A.T) degree are required to take the ETS Proficiency Profile prior to graduation.
Why must I take this exam? LSCO is required by its accrediting agency to assess the extent to which students have attained core curriculum objectives in order to make data-driven decision regarding continuous improvement in student learning.
What is the ETS Proficiency Profile? The ETS is a standardized test that will measure general education skills obtained from core curriculum objectives at LSCO and enable LSCO to calculate and evaluate student learning and general education outcomes. The exam will be administered on computer, and it will take approximately 3 hours to complete.
How will this test impact me? Scores on the ETS Proficiency Profile will not affect graduation status and will not be used in GPA computation. Scores are available upon completion of exam. Students may be eligible to receive an ETS Proficiency Profile Certificate of Achievement, which can be noted on your resume and highlighted during job interviews.
