Chevron Phillips Donates to LSC-O Foundation

In an effort to help Lamar State College - Orange students further their education while recovering from the damage of Hurricane Harvey, Chevron Phillips made a generous donation of $10,000 to the LSC-O Foundation.

“We just want to help them get back to normal,” said Vicki Derese, Community Relations Representative for Chevron Phillips.

LSC-O President, Dr. Michael Shahan, and LSC-O Foundation Chairman, Jack Smith, were on hand to accept the donation.

“This will really help,” Shahan said, thanking Derese and Chevron Phillips.

Smith said the foundation awards more than 50 scholarships a year to LSC-O students.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” Smith said.

Derese said Chevron Phillips donated to several area schools recovering from hurricane damage.

The LSC-O Foundation is a non-profit organization that works in behalf of Lamar State College – Orange.
