Two of Lamar State College Orange’s best were honored recently by the Texas State University System Foundation as 2019 Regents' Award Recipients.

Dr. Matt McClure, professor of biology, was recognized as a Regents' Teacher Award winner and Dean Gina Simar, Dean of Health, Workforce, and Technical Programs, was recognized with the Regents' Staff Excellence Award.

The recognition ceremony was held at the TSUS Board of Regents quarterly meeting at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.

LSCO President, Dr. Thomas Johnson, expressed his pride in his employees for earning the distinguished awards.

“Only a select few are awarded these prestigious accolades each year for the entire Texas State University System, and this year we had two from our college,” he said. “We appreciate their marvelous contributions to our beautiful college.”

The Texas State University System Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit corporation that provides private financial support to the System and its member institutions.
