The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Lamar State College Orange’s Student and Employee of the Month.

Kaylee Noble was honored as the Student of the Month. Kaylee is studying Education at LSCO with goals to earn her Bachelor degree and doctoral degree and eventually serve on the Texas State Board of Education.

“Kaylee is an exceptional student here at LSCO,” said retired LSCO instructor Dorraine Babcock. “Not only is she dedicated to becoming the best teacher she can be in her academic studies, but she is a leader on campus in being the president of Teachers of Tomorrow.”

English instructor, Byron Lumpkin, called Kaylee “outstanding.”

“She is not only dedicated to her studies and academics, but is a compassionate young woman who has potential to go far in her future career,” he said. “Also, by exhibiting honesty and confidence, she is a student that any teacher would be lucky to count as their own.”

Jennifer Petitjean was recognized as the Employee of the Month. Jennifer is LSCO’s Web Administrator, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure LSCO.edu has all the necessary information at the fingertips of potential and current students as well as faculty, staff, and the community.

“Jennifer has the valuable skill of communicating difficult concepts in an easy to understand language,” said Linda Burnett, Jennifer’s supervisor. “Jennifer is also a very creative innovator. Specifically, she has worked to find solutions for a redesign of the LSCO web page in order to get more real estate on the homepage.”

LSCO’s EVP/Provost, Dr. Wendy Elmore, said Jennifer is an “integral member of the Lamar State College Orange family.”

“Her commitment to marketing the great things of LSCO via our website is remarkable,” Elmore said. “Jennifer’s contributions to the operations of LSCO are appreciated by everyone who has the chance to work directly with her.”

Congratulations to Kaylee and Jennifer. Thank you both for all you do for LSCO!
