Lamar State College Orange offers six designated career pathways. Each pathway contains several specific instructional majors.

Arts and Humanities

The Arts and Humanities pathway features communication, liberal arts, and sociology programs. Students in this pathway have an interest in creatively expressing themselves through their realm of study.

Industry and Manufacturing

The Industry and Manufacturing pathway is designed for students interested in pursuing a career that supports the fabrication, processing, preparation, or transportation of products from raw materials to commodities. Some of the majors within this pathway include electromechanical technology, commercial truck driving, and welding.

Business students

Business

The Business pathway is focused on preparing students for a career in or related to the business environment. Students have the opportunity to learn how to become a leader, organize people, plan activities, and work with numbers. Majors include business management, construction management, and real estate.

Cosmetologist student

Public Service

The Public Service pathway consists of coursework in cosmetology, teaching, court reporting, and criminal justice. Students develop planning and management skills while providing a range of different public services.

Nursing students at LSCO

Health Professions

The Health Professions pathway allows students to learn how to contribute positively to patient care by improving or maintaining the health of those they serve. Students in this pathway study nursing, dental assisting, emergency medical services, massage therapy, or pharmacy technology.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics pathway teaches students to be critical thinkers and to demonstrate knowledge in logic, analysis, experimentation and project-based initiatives. This STEM-focused pathway includes information technology, computer science, and pre-engineering coursework.
