LSCO Graduation

ORANGE, TX – Lamar State College Orange proudly celebrated its Summer 2025 graduates during a commencement ceremony held Saturday, August 9, at 10:00 a.m. at the G&G Enterprises Arena at West Orange-Stark High School. The event honored the achievements of students who completed associate degrees and certificates during the summer term, continuing LSCO’s mission of providing access, opportunity, and excellence in higher education.

“Graduation is one of my absolute favorite events in all of higher education,” said Dr. Wendy Elmore, President of Lamar State College Orange. “It stands as a signal to the hard work, perseverance, and personal growth each student has achieved. It’s a moment that not only celebrates academic success but also marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunity.”

A total of 138 students earned their place as graduates this summer, with LSCO conferring 194 degrees and certificates. Of those awards, 100 were associate degrees and 94 were certificates across a variety of academic and technical programs. The class reflected LSCO’s diverse student body, with graduates ranging in age from 17 to 61 and an average graduate age of 28. The graduating class maintained a strong academic standard, with an average GPA of 3.25.

First-generation college students made up 71 percent of the Summer 2025 graduating class, reinforcing LSCO’s commitment to supporting students who are the first in their families to attend college. The college continues to play a pivotal role in transforming lives and communities in Southeast Texas by removing barriers and creating pathways to success.

Graduates represented a wide range of academic fields, with 38 percent earning credentials in Health Professions and 30 percent in Arts and Humanities.

Lamar State College Orange congratulates all Summer 2025 graduates on their accomplishments and looks forward to the continued impact they will make in their communities and beyond.
