LSCO Celebrates Apprentices and Interns on National Apprenticeship Day 2025
April 30, 2025
In honor of National Apprenticeship Day 2025, Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) proudly recognizes the achievements of its students who are gaining invaluable hands-on experience through partnerships with leading industries across Southeast Texas.
This year, Apprenticeship USA is marking the occasion with a single-day celebration as it transitions its traditional week-long recognition to the spring season. The full week of celebrations will resume in 2026, allowing for even greater national visibility and engagement.
At LSCO, apprenticeships and internships are more than educational opportunities—they’re powerful pathways to meaningful careers. Through strong partnerships with companies like DOW, Exxon, Cloeren, United Rentals, CP Chem, and others, students are actively contributing to the workforce while completing their academic programs.

Many of these students participate in LSCO’s Golden Triangle Chapter of the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. This innovative model allows students to earn a two-year associate degree while working in paid apprenticeships—gaining the technical and professional skills needed in modern industry.
Others are part of industry-specific internship programs like the one offered by DOW, which combines paid, on-the-job training with a company-funded associate degree, full benefits, and long-term career opportunities.
LSCO also supports learning through its co-op programs, which integrate academic instruction with work-based experience, ensuring students graduate career-ready and prepared to lead in their fields.
As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Day, LSCO extends its sincere congratulations to these students for their dedication, professionalism, and contributions to our region’s workforce. Their achievements exemplify the value of apprenticeship and internship pathways—and the strength of the partnerships that make them possible.
