Alicia Lloyd Named LSCO Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success

After more than two decades in higher education, Alicia Lloyd has been named LSCO’s
new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success. “One of the things that has kept me at LSCO throughout my career is the people,” Lloyd
said. “I've had the opportunity to work alongside colleagues who genuinely care about
students and who are willing to step in and support one another when challenges arise. There's a
strong sense of purpose here, and that has always resonated with me.”
Throughout her career, Lloyd has served in a variety of roles across the college,
providing her with a unique understanding of how different areas of the institution
work together to support student success. Those experiences have allowed her to build
relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners while gaining
a broad perspective on the college’s mission.
Lloyd credits much of her professional growth to the encouragement and investment
she received from LSCO leaders throughout the years. “I've never felt like I had to
leave LSCO to continue growing professionally,” she said. “The institution has continually
invested in my development, and I'm grateful for that.”
Her collegiate career has further strengthened her leadership philosophy. Lloyd said
her academic experiences provided a foundation in leadership, communication, and service,
while her ongoing doctoral studies have deepened her understanding of strategic leadership
and organizational change.
“One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that education doesn't stop with earning
a degree,” Lloyd said. “Every role I've held, every project I've led, and every relationship
I've built has continued to shape me as a leader.”
As she steps into her new role, Lloyd is excited for the opportunity to help guide
the future of the institution she knows so well. Having worked across multiple areas
of the college, she believes those experiences have equipped her to support faculty,
staff, and students while advancing LSCO’s academic mission.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to help shape the future of the institution
I care so deeply about,” Lloyd said. “I'm excited to support our faculty and staff,
continue strengthening our academic programs, and help create opportunities that allow
students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.”
Lloyd credits much of her success to the support of her husband. “His belief in me
has given me the confidence to continue pursuing new opportunities,” she said. “I'm
incredibly grateful to have a partner who has supported every step of this journey.”
She also expressed appreciation for the many colleagues who have helped guide her
career. “I've been fortunate to work alongside people who have challenged me, offered
guidance, and believed in my potential,” Lloyd said. “Looking back, I realize this
promotion reflects the encouragement, support, and investment of so many people who
have helped shape both my career and my growth as a leader.”
Outside of work, Lloyd enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling
with her family, and indulging her love of horror movies. While balancing family life,
professional responsibilities, and doctoral studies can be demanding, she strives
to stay connected to the people who matter most.
Lloyd’s appointment represents the continuation of a legacy built on dedication, institutional
knowledge, and a deep belief in the transformative power of education. After spending nearly
her entire professional career helping move LSCO forward, Lloyd is beyond ready to
help lead its next chapter.
