Innovative Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Donates Equipment to the Lumberton Dual Credit Location

LUMBERTON, TX – Lamar State College Orange is celebrating the generosity of Innovative Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing for their recent donation of HVAC equipment to the dual credit Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning program at Lumberton High School.

The contribution provides students with valuable, hands-on training opportunities using industry-relevant tools and systems. This type of real-world experience is critical in preparing students to enter the workforce with confidence and practical knowledge.

Dean of Industry and Manufacturing Programs Dr. R.E. Davis shared his appreciation for the donation, noting the quality and impact of the equipment.

"The donation includes some genuinely nice used HVAC equipment," Davis said. "One condenser is a very new unit that we received completely intact. It has the new refrigerant, aluminum coils, and is in pristine condition. The program also received two compressors, two fan motors, three evaporator coils, contractors, relays, and condenser fans."

Echoing Davis's appreciation, HVAC Instructor Michael Ruland emphasized the importance of having access to current and quality equipment for training purposes.

"The equipment is so nice because you can see what parts actually look like on a unit without getting hurt," Ruland said.

Ashla Taylor of Innovative Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing explained the company's motivation for supporting local students.

"Our team is very thankful to have the opportunity to provide HVAC equipment for students to train on and gain hands-on experience in the trades industry," Taylor said. "This type of learning is invaluable, and it equips the next generation with real-world skills, prepares them for successful careers, and helps ensure our community has a strong and capable workforce in HVAC for the future."

This donation reflects a strong partnership between local industry and education, ensuring that students in the dual credit program gain exposure to the tools and technologies they will encounter in the field.
