LSCO to Host Transfer Fair Connecting Students with Four-Year Universities Page Title

February 23, 2026

ORANGE, TX – Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) will host its annual Transfer Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shahan Events Center, giving students and community members the opportunity to connect directly with representatives from four-year universities.

The event is designed to help students planning to continue their education beyond LSCO explore bachelor’s degree options, learn about admissions requirements and scholarships, and map out a seamless transfer process.

“A transfer fair is really set up for our students that want to continue their educational journey,” said Karina Salgado Estrada, recruiter at LSCO. “This really helps to plan out those processes and get those first steps where they can ask some of those questions they have about what their options are.”

LSCO offers certificate and associate degree programs across multiple pathways, including business, health professions, industry and manufacturing, STEM, and public service. Many of these programs are structured to transfer into four-year institutions, particularly through Texas’ core curriculum system, which guarantees transfer of completed core coursework to public universities in the state.

In addition to Texas institutions, several Louisiana universities are expected to attend. Representatives will be available to discuss degree plans, application deadlines, housing, transfer credit policies and financial aid opportunities.

Kendra De La Fuente, director of advising and recruiting, said students should not let concerns about cost or complexity prevent them from exploring their options.

“Just look at the choices. Look at where you could start here at LSCO and go from there,” De La Fuente said. “We’re just here to support students, and we’re bringing all these options to you guys to plan your future. So just explore and have fun.”

LSCO officials encourage students to begin transfer conversations early, ideally when they first enroll, to ensure they take the right courses and meet application timelines. Advisors work closely with partner institutions to minimize lost credits and create clear transfer pathways, including specialized agreements that allow certain technical coursework to apply toward bachelor’s degrees.

The Transfer Fair is free and open to the public, including prospective students and community members who may be considering returning to college.
