Course Equivalency Frequently Asked Questions

Are computer science courses still accepted for the math requirement?

Computer Science courses are no longer accepted. Math 1314 College Algebra or Math 1342 Statistics must be taken to meet the degree plan requirement. Students who plan to obtain their BSN will need Math 1342 (Statistics). 

What Psychology courses are required?

PSYC 2301 General Psychology
PSYC 2314 Lifespan Growth and Development

What are the pre-requisites for Health Assessment and Pathophysiology?

To enroll in these classes you must also have completed BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402, Anatomy and Physiology I & II. Enrollment or completion of a Vocational Nursing Program is no longer required. Both Health Assessment and Nursing Pathophysiology build upon basic nursing knowledge. Students without a nursing background will find these courses more challenging. Therefore, it is recommended that you do not take these courses until you have completed beginning nursing courses.

Is a two hour Health Assessment course, such as RNSG 1215, equivalent to the required Health Assessment course-RNSG 1300?

No. You must complete a three hour Health Assessment course to meet the degree requirement.
