Education Program Description
Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT)
This degree program is Texas state-board approved consisting of lower-division courses intended for transfer to baccalaureate programs that lead to initial Texas teacher certification.
There are two degree plans:
AAT1: For students interested in teaching grades early childhood-6th grade, grades 4-8 or special education (EC-12th grade).
AAT2: For students interested in teaching core subjects in grades 8-12 in art, music, physical education, health, theater arts, technology applications, and languages other than English, excluding special education.
