About FAME
The Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (TX FAME) at Lamar State College Orange prepares students for high-tech, high-paying careers in advanced manufacturing.
This innovative program combines classroom learning with hands-on work experience, creating a skilled workforce pipeline for our regional industry partners.
Program Details
As a FAME Intern, you will:
- Work three days per week with a sponsoring company while attending classes two days per week at LSCO.
- Graduate after five semesters with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electromechanical Technology or Machining.
- Gain two years of valuable, real-world work experience.
- Graduate potentially debt-free!
- Build a pathway to full-time employment post-graduation

To join the Texas FAME program, there are two required steps: submit your FAME application and required documents and apply for admission to Lamar State College Orange (LSCO).

- Select TX FAME Golden Triangle Chapter in your FAME application.
- Submit your transcripts, resume, personal essay, and required documents.

- Submit your admissions application through LSCO Apply.
