Individual departments should identify staff members to serve as records responsible employees who understand retention requirements for their specific operational areas, implement consistent retention practices, and collaborate with the Records Management Officer on complex matters.

Individual Staff Obligations

All LSCO employees share responsibility for proper record creation and maintenance, compliance with established retention guidelines, protection of records from premature destruction, and consultation with appropriate personnel when retention questions arise.
