February Presidential Update
February 3, 2026 | Email
Dear LSCO family –
As we move into February, our campus is alive with energy, progress, and possibility; and that momentum is because of you. Everywhere I go across Lamar State College Orange and our community, I see your
commitment in action. I see faculty who challenge and inspire students in meaningful ways. I see staff
who welcome, guide, and support students with care and professionalism. I see teams
working collaboratively, often behind the scenes, to ensure that every part of our
college functions smoothly and effectively. Your work ABSOLUTELY matters, and it is
making a real and lasting difference for the people who have come to LSCO to improve
their lives.
February is a pivotal time in the semester. (Most) students are fully engaged in their
coursework, student support and wrap-around services across the College are working
at full capacity, and enrollment and outreach efforts are continuing with urgency
and purpose. At the same time, planning is well underway for the months ahead as we
prepare for continued growth and opportunity. This pace requires focus, flexibility,
and resilience, yet you continue to rise to the challenge with determination and pride.
😊
What makes LSCO truly special is not just the work we do, but how we do it. We lead with integrity. We stay grounded in our mission. We show up for
our students and for one another. We embrace change while remaining focused on what
matters most: access, opportunity, and student success. Because of that shared commitment, our students feel supported, our community feels connected, and our college
continues to move forward with confidence and momentum.
Growth brings both opportunity and complexity. It stretches us, challenges us, and
asks us to think differently and work together in new ways. But growth also affirms
the value of our mission to transform lives. It also reminds us of the exponential
impact of our collective efforts. The progress we are seeing across campus is a direct
result of your hard work, your adaptability, and your belief in what LSCO stands for.
I applaud you for the relationships that you continue to nurture and support amidst the stretching. Relationships grounded
in trust; open, regular communications are critical in order for LSCO to continue
to positively benefit more students and lives than ever before.
As we continue through February, I encourage each of you to take a moment to recognize
the impact of your work. Celebrate progress. Share successes. Acknowledge the efforts
of your colleagues. Small moments of encouragement and recognition make a big difference,
especially during busy seasons like this one. Most importantly, remember that the
work you do every day is shaping lives and opening doors. Your Future Is Our Focus, and because of you, that promise is more than words; it is an experience our students
feel from the moment they step onto our campus.
Thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to
our students and to one another. Let’s keep building on this momentum and continue
moving Full Speed Ahead—together.
Blessings always,
Wendy
