TEAS Test Preparation

Study Guides may be purchased from Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) at www.atitesting.com, or are available in the library (for a 3 day checkout).

Registering for the TEAS

A $70 testing fee is required prior to testing. You may pay by phone at (409) 882-3371 or in person or at the Cashier's Office located on the third floor of the Ron E. Lewis Library building. You must request a receipt. This receipt MUST be presented at the testing center upon testing.

Contact the Testing Center to schedule time and date for your TEAS to be administered.

Start times for exams are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

TEAS check-in requirements

Picture ID is mandatory. The test administrator is required to verify identification by visually inspecting your identification. Test security procedures mandate the positive identification of examinees prior to beginning the exam. The test administrator is required to deny admission to any person who cannot be positively identified.

Arrive at the Testing Center located on the first floor of the Ron E. Lewis Library building approximately 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.

TEAS General Information

The TEAS consists of reading comprehension, math, science, and language skills. Each section is timed with one minute and fifteen seconds per question. Allow three and a half hours for the exam.

The use of a 4 function calculator is permitted during the TEAS.

TEAS Score Reports

Your test scores are available immediately after completing the exam. Please print three (3) copies, one for our records, one for your records, and one to be submitted to the Allied Health program for which you are testing.

You must achieve a score of 50% on reading comprehension, 50% on language skills and 50% on math to be eligible for consideration in the Vocational Nursing program. The test may be repeated after 3 days with unlimited attempts if necessary.
