Gatorama 2026: Gators in the Upside Down
April 15, 2026
ORANGE, TX – Lamar State College Orange’s (LSCO) annual Gatorama returned this year with a themed twist, “Gators in the Upside Down,” inspired by the Netflix series Stranger Things, drawing students, faculty, staff and community members together for one of the campus’s most anticipated traditions.
Held on campus, the event featured a wide range of programs, student organizations and local partners, each hosting booths, activities and giveaways. Gatorama offers more than entertainment. It creates space for connection, giving attendees the opportunity to engage with campus life beyond the classroom.
For many at LSCO, the event is a highlight of the year. It brings the campus community together in a shared experience built on school spirit, involvement and relationships.
“I love the community feeling and how sweet everybody is,” said Lucia Lu, a sophomore majoring in pre-professional health science, when asked about her favorite part of being a Gator.
That sense of connection was evident throughout the event, as groups such as the Student Government Association, Student Ambassadors and Teachers of Tomorrow welcomed attendees and shared information about their programs.
Community partners also played an important role, strengthening the connection between the college and the surrounding area. Local organizations attended to provide resources and support while engaging directly with students.
“One of our core values is community,” said Rebecca with DuGood Credit Union. “We feel very responsible and passionate about giving back, and what better place to be than Gatorama and Lamar State College Orange.”
Across campus, booths highlighted both academic opportunities and community services, while students shared their experiences and goals.
Sabrina, a student in the dental assisting program, described her time at the event as “fun, interesting and full of ambition.”
Events like Gatorama are driven by student involvement, with organizations and volunteers working together to create an engaging and welcoming atmosphere. As the day wrapped up, the impact was clear. Gatorama remains a defining part of campus life, bringing the LSCO community together in a celebration many look forward to all year.
