IPEDS Graduation Rates
For compliance with the Principles of Accreditation published by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), LSCO annually calculates, reports, and publishes graduation rates using a formula developed by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). This formula is used to determine the rates for a group of students entering each Fall semester who graduate within 150% of their program’s length (for example, within three years of registering as a major in a two-year Associate Degree program). LSCO established a baseline rate of in 2016, when 20.1% of the students who entered in Fall 2013 had earned a degree by the end of the 2015-2016 academic year. Data is presented below.
- LSCO’s IPEDS report on the graduation rate for the 2013-14 cohort, reported in 2016-17 to SACSCOC as the baseline graduation rate, was 20.1%.
- LSCO’s IPEDS report on the graduation rate for the 2014-15 cohort, reported in 2017-18, was 21.9%.
- LSCO’s IPEDS report on the graduation rate for the 2015-16 cohort, reported in 2018-19, was 21.6%.
- LSCO’s IPEDS report on the graduation rate for the 2016-17 cohort, reported in 2019-20, was 22.2%.
- LSCO’s IPEDS report on the graduation rate for the 2017-18 cohort, reported in 2020-21, was 23.5%.
IPEDS Graduation Rates Percentages 2016-2021
For publication, IPEDS rates are rounded to the nearest whole percentage point. The overall increase in LSCO graduation rates by this measurement is four percentage points since the establishment of the baseline.
