Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS)

Our Mission
The OASIS (Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services) supports the educational mission of Lamar State College Orange by providing services, resources, and programs that promote academic success, excellence in teaching and learning, and continuing intellectual and personal growth, to our students, faculty, staff, and the greater Orange community.
In addition to being a fun acronym, the OASIS staff hope that we can provide students, faculty, and staff with an oasis of knowledge, support, and inspiration.
Our Services

The LSCO library houses over 33,000 print materials and provides research support, guides, course assistance, GATORSearch, A-Z databases, and full text finder for students, faculty, and staff.

The OASIS offers diverse tutoring options including Academic Support Coaches, Faculty Tutors, Peer Tutors, in-person/virtual appointments, and 24/7 support via Upswing.

The Testing Center provides a quiet and comfortable setting for group and individual testing. The center is completely handicapped-accessible.

Our Lifesavers program offers workshops and sessions on essential academic skills and tools, from Microsoft Office training to notetaking and research strategies.

Students will be expertly partnered with a mentor early in or before the semester who will guide them through college life and offer advice.

The GPS Tutoring Program connects first-time college students showing academic distress with personalized support resources requiring one weekly tutoring hour until improvement.
